Polish Chicks - Strait Run
This is a European breed of crested chicken.
Our birds are available as Blue, Black or Buff and may have a black or white crest. They will lay 3 to 4 eggs a week.
The origins of the Polish or Poland chickens are unknown, but similar birds are shown in images from Italy and the Netherlands from the 17th century.
The birds have a small v-shaped comb and an abundant crest of feathers on the crown of the head. They are kept for show or for ornament. There are bearded, non-bearded and frizzle varieties.
